Terms and Conditions for student storage 2025

1. Packing Materials and Delivery

·       We supply strong packing boxes (60 x 40 x 40 cm), box labels, and packing tape.

·       Packing materials will be delivered within 48 hours of purchase.

·       Example: If you purchase a 5 to 12 box deal, you will receive 12 boxes.

·       Unused boxes may be returned at the time of collection.

·       An emergency same-day delivery service is available — please contact us directly to arrange.

2. Use of Personal Packing Materials

·       You may use your own boxes, suitcases, bags, or other packing methods.

·       If using your own materials, please email or WhatsApp photos of your items so we can estimate volume and price.

·       We price your storage by converting items to an equivalent box count:

·         - Bike = 4 boxes

·         - Office chair = 3 boxes

·         - A container twice the size of our box = 2 boxes

·       Example: A 12-box deal might include 8 boxes and 1 bike (total = 12 boxes).

3. Collection of Items

·       Collection occurs on your chosen day.

·       You can select your date at checkout or contact us later to arrange.

·       Return date and delivery address are not required at the time of booking and can be provided later.

·       Please keep us informed as soon as these details are known so we can plan accordingly.

·       Please provide at least 72 hours’ notice before collection to ensure proper scheduling.

·       We will issue your 2-hour collection window the day before your arranged collection day.

·       If you have time-specific needs, let us know — we’ll do our best to accommodate.

·       Collection is from your bedroom.

·         - If there is no lift and stairs are involved, a surcharge applies (see Section 9).

4. Storage Duration and Conditions

·       Storage is included for up to 6 months, beginning from your collection date.

·       Pricing is the same whether you store for 1 week or 6 months.

·       Items are stored in our purpose-built, dry, secure storage units.

4.1 Storage Time Extensions

·       If your items are stored for longer than the initial 6-month period, the additional time will be chargeable.

·       Thos will be pro rate to your current rate

·       Please contact us in advance to arrange an extension and confirm applicable fees.

5. Insurance

·       Basic insurance is included up to a value of £150.

·       If you require additional coverage, please contact us for upgrade options.

6. Return and Delivery of Items

·       We require 72 hours’ notice to return your items on your chosen day. Notify us via WhatsApp (07531 962 932) or email (admin@manchesterstorage.org).

·       For deliveries outside Manchester, 7 days’ notice is required.

·       We will provide a 2-hour delivery window the day before your scheduled return.

·       If you need to reschedule, please let us know as soon as possible so we can make alternative arrangements.

·       Cancellation charges will apply if you request to change the delivery date after your items have been loaded onto the van on your arranged day. Unload and  Re storing fee £60

7. Delivery Locations and Charges

·       Delivery within 10 miles of Manchester Storage is included.

·       Deliveries outside Manchester incur additional charges – please contact us for a quote.

·       For out-of-area deliveries, items will be delivered to the front door/roadside/entrance only — not to rooms or bedrooms.

8. Packaging Materials and Instructions

·       We provide all necessary packaging materials, including:

·         - Boxes

·         - Tape

·         - Box labels

·       Please follow the 'Packaging Advice Notice' included with your delivery kit.

9. Additional Charges

·       Stair surcharge (if no lift): From £20

·       Repacking surcharge (e.g., overfilled or improperly sealed boxes): from £10 per box

·       Extended storage: If items are retained beyond the initial 6-month storage period, an additional storage fee will apply. Please contact us to arrange and confirm pricing.

·       Missed collection appointments: If you are unavailable during the confirmed collection window, a missed appointment fee of £60 will be charged and a new collection time scheduled.

·       Same-day cancellation or rearrangement after boxes have been retrieved from storage is subject to a £60 restocking and reloading fee.

10. Shipping overseas.

·       If you require shipping services, please provide your destination address and the date by which delivery is needed.

·       A custom quote will be provided based on your specific shipping requirements.

11. Electricity

·       If electricity is required for any reason during the storage or handling of your items (e.g., charging electric devices, refrigeration, etc.), an additional charge will apply.

·       Please contact us in advance to discuss your needs and obtain a quote.

12. Passport Retrieval

·       If you need to retrieve your passport in an emergency while your items are in storage, a £60 retrieval fee will apply if you have not booked in.

13. Access to Goods During Storage

·       Once your items are in storage (from the day after collection), access is by arrangement only.

·       You must request access at least 24 hours in advance, and visits can only be made during office hours.

·       Please contact us to schedule a suitable time.

·       Emergency retrieval same day costs are £60 this does not include any delivery and is for the retrieval and restocking of items.
